I finally got around to looking at my J.Crew catalogue and as usual I am in love with everything. Today's look is all J.Crew and I'm going preppy - which is sometimes how I like to step out into the world. It doesn't get much more preppy than tartan pants in reds & greens which are also perfect for the holiday. Santa will you please bring me a bunch of J.Crew gift cards? I've been on the "nice" list!

Goodies: J.Crew Factory Finds

In keeping with my first recent buys post, I decided to share the deals I got on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. However, the majority are Christmas gifts for my family so I can't show them on here and spoil the surprise! 1. Charley Sweater in Citrus Lime - I passed up sweaters at several stores because they were drab colors. There's something much more fun about bright sweaters! Purchased on sale for $24.50 (reg. $49.50)

Black & Blue

I was so glad I packed black tights when Sunday rolled around and we woke up to snow. The white ground was such a beautiful sight on our way to church - and I knew immediately outfit photos were happening despite the very chilly weather! If I do an all black outfit (especially a little black dress), I love to add a pop of color.. this time with my new blue heels.

Mustard

I couldn't help pairing a mustard yellow cardigan with my burgundy skinny jeans to celebrate Thanksgiving with nearly 30 family members. We had the most delicious brined turkeys, mashed potatoes, stuffing and (let's not forget) dessert.

One of the highlights: we all wrote what we are thankful for on a leaf and hung it on trees in the middle of each table. We went through each leaf sharing our thanks - and then our favorite memories. A day full of eating, backyard football, family and my favorite kind of mustard. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!

Friday's Fancies: Black Friday

Black Friday is serious business for my Mom, Sister and I. Out shopping bright and early - maybe a stop for lunch and no rest until it's dark and we're in the car on our way home with bags of goodies. Needless to say, today calls for flats and a relaxed look to shop the best deals. I'm not crazy about all black - so I added a fabulous J.Crew sweater in the mix to keep things interesting. Maybe I should just shop this outfit for myself. I love it that much!

Happy Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for - and not just one day a year. Here are just a few on my heart:

Pleats & Polka Dots

The pink polka dot sweater has made a comeback! (Originally seen here and here) I just couldn't part with it, so I tucked it into a pleated skirt for a whole new (dressy) look. Plus, I now believe you can never go wrong with layered pearl necklaces.

Red With A Twist

This is a fitting post because my eye resembles the color of my cardigan. Yep. I'm now out of (picture-taking) commission due to pink eye... which I caught in the movie theater last Friday. After a sleepless night, blurry vision and a visit to the MinuteClinic (with lots of stares) - I'm slowly nursing my swollen eye back to health with eye drops -- which I am NOT a fan of! I still have lots to be thankful for though! ;)
