Rainy Day Wear

I hope everyone is drying off from Sandy and things are getting back to normal. We had a lot of rain and wind here but luckily our power stayed on. It has certainly been plenty wet and cold enough to venture out in the rain with my Coach trench coat and warmer boots. After being in sweaters (more on that later in the week ;) and pajamas it's a nice change following some very rainy days!

DC For A Day

What was supposed to be a 2 day DC trip turned into 1.... thank you, Sandy.

But, we still had a great time taking little bro and gf Marissa around DC on Saturday. A few highlights: monuments, the White House, Ellipse and Fogo de Chao for dinner. Sunday funday was packed with a walk in the park, watching the Steelers and making pierogies. Family time is the best.

Friday's Fancies: 100!

You know I'm a sucker for a polka dot and pleats so imagine my excitement when I found this Target gem. It's the perfect fall dress that will definitely transition to colder weather with some tights. Target is... on target.... with its clothing selection right now. So many good finds I suggest going running to your nearest store and trying everything on. I did!

Blue Floral

Don't you just love it when an unexpected outfit comes together? Me too! I was going through my summer dresses and realized this floral shirt had the same bold blue. A couple tucks and ties over the dress and I practically have a skirt. Add heels in the same hue and it's a match made in blue-floral heaven!

Summer Dress to Fall

I was just talking to my Sister last weekend about transitioning summer dresses to fall.. something I'm trying to do more of. So, I tried my styling hand at it by using a favorite summer dress (seen here and here) styled with a crisp navy blazer and wedge booties. Moral of the story: I think I need to keep my summer dresses close by.

It's time to think outside the box and get more use out of your sweaters by wearing them in different ways. They can be dressed up with patterned pants and heels or become more weekend casual with rolled up jeans and heels (or sneakers). So effortlessly chic!
